Roberto Rodriguez, Ph.D. — or “Dr. Cintli” — is an Associate Professor in the Mexican American Studies Department at the University of Arizona. Dr. Cintli is a longtime, award-winning writer. His last 2 books, “Our Sacred Maiz is our Mother: Nin Tonantzin Non Centeotl” (2014) and “Yolqui: A Warrior Summoned from the Spirit World” (2019) were both published by the University of Arizona Press. The third book of his trilogy — “Smiling Brown: People the color of the Earth” — will be published soon. A collection of his writings, titled “Writing 50 Years Amongst the Gringos,” will be published in 2021 by Aztlan Libre Press. Dr. Cintli currently writes a bi-monthly column for the Progressive Populist.
 
In the second half-hour, Tiokasin talks with returning guest Ofelia Rivas. Ofelia is an elder and activist from the Tohono O’odham Nation. She is the Founder of O'odham Voice Against the Wall.
