04/14/21 - Julia Barnes
This week, Director Julia Barnes joins Host Tiokasin Ghosthorse. Julia is an award-winning documentary filmmaker. She is the director of “Sea of Life” and “Bright Green Lies.” “Bright Green Lies” — which is also the title of the new book by Derrick Jensen, Lierre Keith and Max Wilbert — investigates the change in focus of the mainstream environmental movement, from its original concern with protecting nature, to its current obsession with powering an unsustainable way of life. The film exposes the lies and fantastical thinking behind the notion that solar, wind, hydro, biomass, or green consumerism will save us from climate change. Tackling the most pressing issues of our time will require us to look beyond the mainstream technological solutions and ask deeper questions about what needs to change. The film will premiere online on Earth Day, April 22. For more information about the film and how to buy tickets for the online premiere, visit brightgreenlies.com.
